Marcus stiffles a yawn as he steps out of the quarters corridor. He is dressed in casual clothes, instead of his suit, for once. His hair is still damp, so it is a good guess he only recently got up, had a shower and is now doing the rounds.
Chinkatah stands poking his huge paws at one of the counsols growling some form of wookiee curse words at it.
Marcus chuckles softly at the curse words, he is sure glad he knows Wookiee. Though he is going to have learn Verpine soon, just so he can understand Buzz a bit better. "I wouldn't let the ladies here you say that pal, they might wash your mouth out."
Chinkatah turns and looks at Marcus chcukling his heavy chuckle. "If they could find it through the hair."
Marcus chuckles some more and nods in agreement, "Very good point." He starts to walk over to you, "But you know women, they can be very resourceful when they want to be."
Chinkatah looks at his bowcaster and fingers the end of it with his paw. "Ok, we have a signal to set the ball rolling or...?
Marcus pulls a little gizmo out of his jacket and passes it to you, "When that thing beeps once, start making your way to the bridge at a normal pace. One beep is just to get ready. If it beeps twice, move your ass. If it beeps 3 times...well, you don't want it to beep 3 times."
Chinkatah nods again sliding the gizmo into his paw. "Ok, who all is with us, just us three? I don't want to kill someone who is with us."
Marcus smiles, "Four...You, Josh, Tenguin and me. Keep an eye on Kryllen, we have our suspisions about him. Buzz...well, i think we can control Buzz easily enough by promising him a new toy to play with. As for all the others, we will find out when it goes down."
Chinkatah stands straight again and looks about. "What about that new fighter pilot Glimmer, Glamor...whatever her name is?"
Marcus shrugs, "Like i said, the others i am not sure on. Glimmer, Grale and the rest will no doubt pick a side when it all goes down. However we want to keep deaths to a bare minimum. People that side with the captain will more than likely be doing that coz they think we are causing a mutiny. They won't know about how he has been cheating us, if they did, then most of them would probably be with us. But we can not afford to try to recruit the whole crew, just in case one of them reports back to the captain. So only kill someone /IF/ you really need to."
Chinkatah sighs and nods releasing his bowcaster. "Understood." He stretches his frame popping like a series of firecrackers. "I will not fly off the handle."
Marcus smiles, "You can, just control it a bit. You will need to protect Tenguin with your life pal, you are playing a very important part in this. You need to make sure no harm comes to him until we are out of the trap. Just try not to kill anyone."
Chinkatah nods slowly. "I will try." He smirks baring on of his large k-9's.
Marcus grins and pats you on the back, "I know you will. And i know we will all make it through this. I can't help but wonder who the new captain will be, probably Grale for his intelligence."
Chinkatah flexes a bit. "I think the strongest should lead. Better for negotiations." He laughs loudly.
Marcus chuckles, "You can be second in command. When things start to go down hill you will get to bust some skulls."
Chinkatah waves his hand. "Bah!! Bust skulls first, ask questions later."
Marcus grins, "But if we ask questions first, then we might get to find out how many other skulls we can bust."
Chinkatah roars out another "Bah!" He turns back to the console. "Oh, wait, I noticed something else in your program." He begins punching up something on the panel.
Marcus figured the oppertunity to bust more skulls would of pleased you. He hmmms at your words, "Ohh, what is it?"
Chinkatah punching several sub-routines into the program he stops when he gets to what he wants to show. "You had this set up to sponge off the Hyperdrive back-up." He looks around. "It just went down so I rerouted it through tactical's main processor and masked it as a administration protocal."
Marcus sighs softly and softly kicks the bulk head of the ship, "I was afraid of that, but was hoping it wouldn't be a problem. I have been checking it twice daily, and was going fine so far. Guess it finally decided to give out. There is so many things on this hunk of junk that needs replacing. Good work, too. Glad to know you are checking them as well." He shakes his head, "I swear, once this is over and done with i am gonna suggest we say to hell with the credits and replace everything that needs replacing. This ship is going to be the death of us otherwise."
Chinkatah nods. "I agree, and if we are going to have a fresh start we should start from scratch." He closes the routine and erases the memory. "I was there when the hyperdrive went out so I checked your program against it." He smirks. "Almost didn't find it you sneaky Sungwa."
Marcus chuckles softly, "I am paid to be sneaky. I still wish we had the time to wait on all the parts i wanted, these systems would have been a lot better. Ahh well, part of the life we lead, everything depends on time. I am pretty sure Josh will agree on an overhaul too, this ship is well overdue for one. I am surprised the ion cannons still work."
Chinkatah looks away as the ion cannon are brought up and if wookiee's could whistle innocently he would.
Marcus looks at you curiously, "Okay, spill it. What did ya do?"
Chinkatah raises his arms. "/I/ didn't do anything, they haven't worked in weeks. Captain told me to keep it quiet."
Marcus shakes his head, "Just more evidence against him. What is the problem with them? Because my readings showed they were working fine before i installed my gizmos."
Chinkatah once again would whistle innocently as he pokes the screen again pulling up a program with his hairy fingerprints all over them. "He had me write this program covering all the things that were wrong with the ship from diagnostic programs." He returns his glance to Markus. "Energy cells are ruptured...all of them."
Marcus just stares at you, "And you tell me this now? A few hours before we are ready to take off and be ambushed?" He shakes his head, "You have to be kidding me. Please tell me you replaced them without him knowning."
Chinkatah grins slightly and leaves it at that.
Marcus grumbles softly, "Dammit Chin, don't do that too me. Things are hectic and stressful enough without you doing that to me." After a few seconds he calms down and sees the funny side of it, "I'll get you for this when it is all over."
Chinkatah scratches his chin with the tips of his paws. "Just letting you know I am more than just a pretty ball of fur."
Marcus shakes his fist at you in a friendly manner and grins, "There is other ways to do it besides giving me a heart attack."
Chinkatah shrugs. "Heart attack now, bowcaster later. What's the difference?" He laughs loudly patting you on the back roughly.
Marcus glares at you after you almost knock him off his feet and grins softly, "Don't forget, i do own a pair of hair clippers and can slice my way past the lock on your quarters."
Chinkatah laughs again. "Says you, I have my /own/ security on that lock." He shuts the panel down one again.
Marcus smiles innocently, "It might take me a little longer, but i'll crack it sooner or later." He grins wickedly, "I've always wondered what a bald Wookiee would look like."
Chinkatah glowers. "It would look a lot like death to you." He sticks out his wookiee tongue and spends the next 5 minutes trying to blow hair from it.
Marcus chuckles as you get hair all over your tongue, "That'll teach you to stick out your tongue at me. Look on the bright side, when you are bald no one would recognize you."
Chinkatah raises a brow, not that you would notice. "If I am bald you are skinned and boiled. Keep that in mind."
Marcus chuckles and pats you on the back, "Understood. We'll have no /completely/ bald Wookiee's running around."
Chinkatah nods and scratches his butt. "A little trim back there wouldn't bother me though. You up for it?" He laughs loudly now.
Marcus smirks, "Thats one place i would not touch for a 1000000 credits." He grins, "But i know someone who would."
Chinkatah raises a brow. "If it is a woman we are talking, if not, say nothing."
Marcus hmmms and scratches his chin, "Well i don't know much about Verpine biology. Dunno if Buzz is a woman or not."
Chinkatah shakes his head no. "Bugs make me feel oogy so no."
Marcus grins, "Okay, no bugs." He brushes his hair back, "I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you pal. Maybe we'll let you have the captain as a play toy before we throw him out the airlock."
Chinkatah shrugs. "I am rather disappointed to tell the truth." He clears his throat. "He gave me a job when I had nothing." He is suddenly glad the captain didn't save him from the sith or he would have owed the man a life debt as his father always used to talk about. "But he is dishonest and risks our lives so he must go."
Marcus nods lightly, "I am disappointed myself. This was my escape from the Republic, never expected i'd have to be doing something like this. But it is him or us, and as far i as i am concerned that leaves us little choice."
Chinkatah nods and stands silent a moment. "Yes." Is all he adds for the moment though he looks displeased about it all.
Marcus smiles lightly, "Hey, come on pal. I know it is dirty work. Once it is over i doubt we will ever have to do it again. I mean, the new captain will be someone we vote in, someone we trust. And with both os us working together, i am sure we can keep tabs on the records to make sure something like this never happens again."
Chinkatah nods slowly as he listens. "I know, I know." He clears his throat with a gruff puff. "I just wish it was over."
You say, "It will be, very soon. Then we can all get back to doing what we do best without having this betrayal hanging over our head."
Chinkatah nods. "I know." He says once again. "I need to look over the hyperdrive subroutines again to make sure the rigging I did on it is still holding together."
Marcus nods lightly, "I need to make a few checks myself. I will talk to you later pal...remember, watch your back."
Chinkatah nods. "You too."
"I will pal, i will." Marcus then walks off to run his tests.
